Conclusion
The most recent studies shed new light on the union between linguistics and health, which previous studies have yet to fully address. Switching between different languages appears to stimulate the brain, so that it builds up a cognitive reserve. It is important to realize that by having two languages does not mean you are completely curing a neurological disease. Instead you are making it subsequently possible to prolong the onset of the disease. More research is needed before it is completely understood to what extent bilingualism can decrease the negative impacts that neurological disorders have on cognitive functions.
